Can a blog writer save the economy?
Whatever plans the government has, optimism will be at the core of any lasting economic recovery. The power of every blog writer to reach even a small part of the public and even slightly make them feel a twinge of optimism gives us the opportunity to help a large part of the country change their mood. Maybe it’s as simple as every blog writer out there staying positive.
It’s hard to find statistics on the number of blogs in North America, but clearly it’s in the millions. Imagine the impact that we as a group can have.
I’m not proposing propaganda, or even that we stop reporting on what we see. Staying positive is simply a matter of every blog writer looking for a spin that has a bit of optimism involved in it. Here’s an example –
Ion Leap picked up a new client this week. We’re going to do the entire launch of a company that will help small business deal with their computer issues. We’ll pair this client with a blog writer and a search marketing expert who totally understand small business and computer software issues from a consumer perspective, we’ll build the new client a website from the ground up, then we’ll get busy blogging for them. And you know what? I’M EXCITED. This particular new client win might be the actual turning point in the economic downturn. This precise bit of optimism which led this small startup to launch their business has spread to me, and now I hope it’s spreading to you.
If you’re a blog writer, consider this proven fact. Experts in human behavior have said that if you smile it changes your overall mood. Smile, even if you’re not happy. It changes your outlook. So, fellow blog writer, smile before you sit down to write your next posting. Type it out, you goofy-grin-bearing blog writer, with a big fake smile on your face. Even if you’re writing about some less than positive bit of news or opinion you are required to post. That little bit of mood swing may make the difference.
The Ion Leap blog is picking up steam and we regularly have about 100 folks checking out our postings. And now, here you are reading how just one blog writer (me) may have turned the steering wheel upwards towards a world-wide economic recovery. These 100 readers, hopefully, will tweet or re-tweet this entry to 100 more folks and off we go. The recovery has begun! You heard it here first.
I’m so excited, I’m gonna go out and buy that Mercedes I’ve been looking at.
